2 December; Today I participated at the Mountainbike beachrace "Beach Challenge" in Scheveningen (Ned). After a good start where I arrived the beach as 2nd rider, I could join the first group easily. Finally there was a break away of 5 riders, Ramses Bekkink (Nissan), Sander Lormans (Ruiter Dakkapellen), Sebastiaan Langeveld and Martijn Maaskant (both Rabobank) and I. This appeared to be the final break away and the gap with the chasers became bigger easily. However after 10 Km the fate struck with me! At one moment my chain slammed through and I had to get off my bike to move the chain to the middle of the cassette, later appeared that my cassette-body was broken into two pieces. This cost me about 2 minutes and in the meantime the chasing group of about 15 racers passed me. I could join the 2nd chasing group and continued my way, but I couldn't use my first 3 chainwheels at the back. Finally I finished on a 17th place, dissapointing because without trouble I was sure of a top-5 result. Winner was Ramses Bekkink in front of Lormans and Langeveld.

30 Oktober; NEW MAINSPONSOR AND RIDERS 2008 ARE KNOWN ! For the season 2008 CT Differdange has found a new mainsponsor. The brand-new French holiday park Apiflo Vacances will support the team for minimum 2 years. Also Team Differdange-Apiflo Vacances will be the new name of the Luxembourg Continental Team. With the 4 new French riders Thomas Bodo (ex-Française des Jeux), Fréderic Finot (ex-Crédit Agricole), Nicolas Inaudi (ex-Cofidis) and Carl Naibo (ex-AG2R) our team will get experience from the Pro-Tour.

25 Oktober; Yesterday I participated at the ICS Visa Prof Derny Gala. This derny race took place during the Amsterdam Sixday (Ned). The Final winner was Matthe Pronk (Unibet) in front of Leon van Bon (Rabobank) and Thomas Dekker (Rabobank), I was classified as 10th.
22 Oktober; During the Amsterdam Sixday (Ned) on Wednesday I will compete the ICS Visa Prof Derny Gala. Some riders of totally 16 competitors are, Thomas Dekker (Rabobank), Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank), Leon van Bon (Rabobank), Max van Heeswijk (Rabobank), Maarten den Bakker (Skil-Shimano), Servais Knaven (T-Mobile) and the new European Champion behind the derny's, Matthe Pronk (Unibet)
19 Oktober; Last Tuesday I participated with my new team, CT Differdange, at the Sluitingsprijs Putte-Kapellen (Bel) UCI 1.1 with a distance of 185 Km. At the end of the race there was a break away of 7 riders who fought for the victory. Winner became Floris Goesinnen (Ned) of Skil-Shimano, I finished in the bunch as 36th.
15 Oktober; NEW TEAM ! To take effect immediately from today until the end of 2008 I will ride for the Luxembourg team Continental Cycling Team Differdange. Tomorrow I will already participate at the Sluitingsprijs Putte-Kapellen (Bel) UCI 1.1.
14 Oktober; Today I won together with Esther Crombag the tandemrace of the ParaGames in Breda (Ned). During the 5th lap of totally 40 laps or 60 Km, we chose to attack. Only 2 couples could catch us up, Noud Bazelmans/Aldo Klomp and the Belgiums Rudy Meeus/Kristof Mijnendonckx, both male couples. The break away worked very well together and we had a nice gap on our pursuers. After some attacks of Bazelmans/Klomp, we attacked with entering the last lap and we stayed away until the finish. Finally we gained the victory overall and with the mixed teams. 2nd place overall and winner with the men's race were Bazelmans/Klomp. This was our 2nd victory this season on the tandem. 7 Oktober; Today I participated at the race in Nettetal-Breyell (Dui). Halfway the race I was in a break away of 6 riders, but 9 laps before the finish the bunch caught us again. 3 riders could escape including my teammate, Michael Schweizer. He also won the race, in spite of that the bunch came very close. I gained a 4th place only 10 metres behind the leaders. Also my 4 year old daughter, Lisa, took part at the race for kids over 1 lap. Between the boys she gained a 3rd place, which means her first podium place.

30 September; 100th PODIUM PLACE ! Together with teammate, Marc Habets, I participated today in the duo time trail in Arcen (Ned). During this time trail, with a distance of 25 Km, we gained a 2nd place. For me this meant the 100th podium place during a road race in my career.
24 September; Yesterday I participated together with Thomas Bontenackels, Marc Habets and Michael Schweizer at the race in Düren-Merken (Ger). Thomas was in an early break away of 3 riders which made it to the finish. Finally Thomas gained a 2nd place, during the last kilometres I could escape out of the bunch and I finished 4th, Michael gained a 8th place and Marc finished in the bunch.
18 September; Yesterday I gained a 7th place during the race in Hoeilaart (Bel).

12 September; TOUR DE KOREA - UCI 2.2 From 1 until 9 September we participated with Team PZ Racing at the Tour de Korea UCI 2.2. The 1st stage was a criterium on a narrow course with several corners. The stage ended in a bunch sprint in which I gained a 5th place. The 2nd stage was already a mountain stage and after the last climb we were only left with 30 riders of which 3 riders from our team, Maint Berkenbosch, Yin-Chih Wang and I. Finally I also gained a 5th place in this stage. The 3rd stage was one of the hardest stages with a climb of 15 Km. During this climb I got dropped by the 1st group, but in the descend I could come back into the first group and finally I finished as 24th. The 4th stage was a bunch sprint again in which I finished 7th. During the 5th stage I was in a break away of 15 riders. During the last kilometres the peleton rapidly approached our group and I attacked 3 Km before the finish together with 2 Korean riders. We tried to stay in front of the peleton, but unfortunally 500 metres before the finish the bunch caught us and my result was a 34th place. Also during the 6th stage I was in an early break away together with teammate Thomas Bontenackels, but also now the bunch rapidly approached our group during the last kilometres of the stage. At 10 Km before the finish I attacked together with the Korean rider, Hyo Suk Gong. We both gave everything we had to stay in front of the peleton but with only 200 metres to go the bunch caught us ! I was tremendously disappointed after this stage ! At the end of stage 7 we were only left with 30 riders and I gained a 9th place. Stage 8 was a mountain stage again and 2 Km before the finish I had a flat tire, because of that I lost my chance for a good result. Fortunately this happened during the last 3 Km and thereby I lost no time for the General Classification. The last and 9th stage ended in a bunch sprint in which I gained a 4th place. In the General Classification I finished on a 8th place at 01:04 of the winner Sun-Baek Park from Korea.

27 August; Yesterday the World Championship Road Race for Masters (30-34 yrs.) took place in St.Johann (Austria). Because I had to defend my title, it was very difficult for me to escape out of the bunch. During the last kilometres I was in a break away of 9 riders, but 3 Km before the finish the bunch caught us again. Finally it became a mass sprint where I finished as 13th, my teammate Marc Habets finished as 51st. The new World Champion is the Italian rider Italiaan Marco Buratti.
23 August; Tomorrow I will leave to Austria to participate the World Championship Road Race for Masters (30-34 yrs). Together with my teammate Marc Habets I will try to defend my wordtitle of 2006. Afterwards we will participate with our team in the Tour of Korea from 1 until 9 September. In both races I hope to gain some good results.
19 August; 5th VICTORY OF SEASON ! Today I gained at the race in Wemmel (Bel) my 5th victory of this season. Already early in the race I was in the break away of 5 riders. With 20 Km to go I could escape together with the Australian rider, Hilton McMurdo. Finally it became a sprint between the two of us, which I could win easily. My teammate Marc Habets finished on a 9th place.
14 August; Last Monday I participated at the race in Kotem (Bel). Together with Mark Solberg I was in the break away of 9 riders. Finally I finished 2nd, Mark Solberg became 6th, Michael Schweizer 12th, Marc Habets 15th and Chris Lintaman 39th.
12 August; 4th VICTORY OF SEASON ! Today I gained my 4th victory of this season in Vremde (Bel). After halfway the race I was in a break away of 5 riders and we all worked together very well. During the sprint I was the strongest rider and I could win my 4th race of the season. My teammate Chris Lintaman finished in the bunch after riding a strong race. Newsreport Limburgs Dagblad
9 August; Yesterday evening I finished as 16th during the post-Tour criterium, Bavariaronde van Maastricht (Ned). Winner of this pro criterium was Bram Tankink (QuickStep).
6 August; Today I participated the race in Genk-Waterschei (Bel). Teammate, Marc Habets, finished 6th, I became 10th and Chris Lintaman finished 14th.
5 August; This morning I did an easy training ride together with my teammate, Chris Lintaman, who is staying at my house for a couple of nights. During our training I got a flat tire and unfortunally we forget an innertube. Lucky for me I knew an old East-German trick, just tie a knock with the innertube. This worked perfectly for the last 15 Km and I got home without any problem.
4 August; Tonight I participated in the criterium "Nacht van Waubach" in my own hometown in Landgraaf (Ned). Finally I finished on a 6th place.
4 August; Yesterday I finished 10th in the Profronde of Heerlen (Ned). Winner of this post-Tour criterium was Thomas Dekker (Rabobank) in front of Steven de Jongh (Quick Step) and Bram de Groot (Rabobank).

29 July; Today our team participated in the Classic GP Demi Cars (Lux) UCI 1.12. After 40 Km I was together with teammate, Michael Schweizer, in a break away of 5 riders. After 110 Km a chasing group came back, with also Marc Habets from our team. Finally the Danisch rider, Sören Nissen (Team Differdange), won the race.

27 July; Wednesday Marc Habets, Chris Lintaman and I took part at the race in Boortmeerbeek (Bel). All three we were in the break away of 10 riders, but unfortunally Marc had mechanical problems and feld away. Finally I became 3rd, Chris finished 7th and Marc 12th.

18 July; Last Monday I started in the race in Nieuwerkerken (Bel). After 116 Km I finished on a 19th place.
16 July; Yesterday I participated in the race in Kohlscheid (Ger). This was the third race of the Mediaan Euregio Classification. Finally I gained a 8th place in this race, which means that I'm the new leader of the Mediaan Euregio Classification. In this classification, teammate, Marc Habets is 2nd with only 4 points behind.
8 July; Today we have participated with our team in De 3 Zustersteden Willebroek (Bel) UCI 1.2. After 100 Km I was at the wrong moment at the back of the bunch and I lost with a big group the contact with the bunch. Thus I had to abandon the race after 110 Km.
7 July; Success for Team PZ Racing in Welkenraedt ! Today my teammate Thomas Bontenackels won the race in Welkenraedt (Bel). I could complete the success for our team and gained a 3rd place, Marc Habets became 5th and Mark Solberg 9th. Already early in the race Thomas and I were leading together, but 20 Km before the finish the whole bunch came back. With 1 lap to go I was in the final break away of 7 riders together with Marc Habets. During the last kilometre Thomas caught our leading group and attacked right away, Marc and I controlled the chasing group and thereby Thomas could gain his first victory of this season.
6 July; DUTCH CHAMPION ROAD RACE TANDEM MIX-TEAMS ! Today together with Esther Crombag I became Dutch Champion Road Race for Tandem Mix-teams in Doornspijk (Ned). After 60 Km we won the sprint of the duo Burger-Den Bakker.
2 July; Yesterday I took part in the Dutch Championship Road Race for Elite-Men. This race over a distance of 202 Km took place in Maastricht (Ned). In spite of the fact that I lay in bed whole Saturday, because of a terrible headache, I could still gain a good result. Halfway the race I survived the first break under impulse of Rabobank and I was in the leading group of 50 riders. Finally I gained a 29th place between the pro-riders, and in the Elite-Amateurs result I gained a 9th place. Winner with the pro's was Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank PT) and with the Elite-Amateurs, Europe Tour leader, Martijn Maaskant (Rabobank CT). Of the 180 participants only 45 riders finished.

25 June; Yesterday I participated in the race in Brunssum (Ned) over 128 Km. After a race where I was very active en raced for a long time for the 2nd place, we got catched by a chasing group during the last lap and I finished only 11th. Lucky for our team, Michael Schweizer gained the 2nd place and Marc Habets became 8th.
17 June; Yesterday we have participated with our team in the GP Alex Hoffmann in Differdange (Lux). Already early in the race there was a leading group of 24 riders, including Thomas Bontenackels and I from our team. During the final of the race I was in a break away with 6 riders, of which 4 riders from the Continental Team Differdange. They played their teamtactic very good and after a strong race I could gain a 4th place. Winner of the race was Christophe Masson (Team Differdange). Click here for the result
15 June; Today I gained a 2nd place during the race in Merchtem (Bel). I was in the break away of 5 riders who sprinted for the victory. In the sprint I got beaten by the Belgium rider Samuel Van Nuffelen.
14 June; Yesterday I participated in the race in Brustem-St.Truiden (Bel). Several times I tried to escape out of the bunch, but this was almost impossible. Thus this race was decided in a mass sprint, in which I gained a 6th place.
10 June; On Saturday I was invited to participate in the Derny criterium in Weert (Ned). Finally I gained a 2nd place behind Dutch Champion, Björn Hoeben (Time-Van Hemert).
Today I started in the race in Deurne-Diest (Bel). With more than 150 riders it was a difficult race to get in the right break away. Finally I finished as 22nd, teammate Marc Habets became 23rd.
4 June; Yesterday we participated with our team in the Ronde van Limburg. This is a race of 173 km through the hills of Limburg. Of the 170 participants only 48 riders made it to the finish. Stefan Cohnen who started as a guestrider for our team gained a 8th place, I myself finished as 18th. Click here for a TV-report at L1.

28 May; 3rd VICTORY OF SEASON ! Today I became in Heythuysen (Ned) for the 3rd time in a row Regional Champion of Limburg Road Race with the Elite. Already early in the race there was a break away of 8 riders, including teammate Marc Habets and I. With 25 Km to go, 3 riders could escape, Stefan Cohnen (Aurum Hotels-Sapore di Mare), Rik Kavsek (Krolstone) and I. After several attacks of Cohnen, I attacked during the last lap and I could ride solo to the victory. Stefan Cohnen became 2nd and Rik Kavsek 3rd. (See also Photos and Newsreport Limburgs Dagblad).
23 May; Today I did a training on the course of the Ronde van Limburg, which is on the 3rd June. I did almost every climb of this 173 Km race. Together with the Regional Road Championship, next Monday, this race is one of my main goals this season.

19 May; 2nd VICTORY OF SEASON ! Two days after my 1st win this season, I gained today my 2nd victory of this season during the race in Buchten (Ned). The last 60 Km I was in a break away of 4 riders, Job Vissers, Jeroen Janssen, Luuk Metsemakers and I. Finally it turned out to be a sprint with the 4 of us, which I won. Thereby I gained a nice victory only one day before my birthday !
17 May; 1st VICTORY OF SEASON ! Today I won in Westerbeek (Ned) the Championship of South-Netherlands Time Trail in the Elite category. My winning time of this Regional Championship was 20'30.85" over 15,6 Km. Teammate Marc Habets gained a 4th place.
14 May; From 5 until 9 May we participated with our team in the Five Rings of Moscow (Rus) UCI 2.2. This was a very hard stagerace around Moscow in Russia. It was cold with a temperature between 2°C and 5°C. The best result of our team was a 23rd place during the 3rd stage gained by myself. In the General Classification I became 62nd, final winner was Aleksandr Kuschynski of the Protourteam Liquigas.
Last Saturday I started in the criterium of Maasbracht (Ned). During this race I had one of the worst days ever and finished on a disappointed 22nd place.

29 April; NO EAST-MIDLANDS INTERNATIONAL CICLE CLASSIC ! Because of a delay of more than 1 hour with the flight from Cologne to Berlin with Germanwings, I missed my connection flight from Berlin to East-Midlands yesterday ! Because of that it was impossible for me to arrive on time in Nottingham (GBr) to participate in the East-Midlands International Cicle Classic (GBr) UCI 1.2. The other teammembers left already on Friday to Nottingham, but I was forced to return home. As alternative I participated in the race in Krefeld-Fischeln (Ger) where I finished 18th.
23 April; Yesterday we had the classic Rund um Düren (Dui) UCI 1.2 on our schedule. After 30 Km there was a break away of 12 riders under which Thomas Bontenackels and Julian Rammler of our team. I always could stay in the first part of the bunch during the climbs. However during the last climb of the Rollesbroich the peleton of only 30 riders broke apart and I was together with Michael Schweizer in the second part of the peleton. Finally Thomas became 21st and Julian 33rd, our group which was riding for the 34th place had to stop at the local lap.
15 April; Today we participated with our team in the GP Marc Angel in Dommeldange (Lux). This was a good race over a hilly course. Finally I gained a nice 5th place and Thomas Bontenackels a 8th place, Christian Miessen became 23rd, Marc Habets 28th and Julian Rammler 57th. Winner of the race was Christian Poos (Continental Team Differdange).

9 April; Yesterday I participated together with my teammates, Thomas Bontenackels, Marc Habets and Michael Schweizer at the race in Amay (Bel). Finally Marc and I were in the break away of 12 riders. Winner became Jochen Engelen (Davo), I gained a 4th place, Marc was 10th, Michael 20th and Thomas finished in the bunch.

1 April; Today I participated in the Ronde van Oploo (Ned), this was a nice race on a 3,5 Km lap with over 130 riders. Because I'm not completely recovered of the journey of Taiwan and at the same time I still have a jetlag, my legs weren't that good. But still I was in the break away of 13 riders with 20 Km to go. Finally I gained a 7th place. Winner of the race became Hans Bloks (Piels Cyclingteam).

26 March; TOUR DE TAIWAN & TOUR OF NORTH COAST TAIWAN.
TOUR DE TAIWAN - UCI 2.2 From 18 until 24 March we participated with our team PZ Racing in the Tour de Taiwan. The riders which started were, Christian Gertz, Stephan Janiel, Chris Lintaman, Julian Rammler and I. The 1st stage was already very succesful for our team because I gained a 2nd place. I was in the break away of 6 riders, Milne Shawn (Team HealthNet) attacked in the last kilometres and won the 1st stage, I could win the sprint for the 2nd place in front of Australian Champion, Darren Lapthorne (Drapac-Porsche). The 2nd stage was not that succesfull for our team, because Julian Rammler crashed two times and at the end nobody of our team was in the right break away of 13 riders. Finally I became 15th in the 2nd stage. During the 3rd stage I was in an early break for 60 Km, but when they caught us again my legs weren't good anymore and finally I finished in the 2nd group as 30th. The 4th stage was a climb finish where I could maintain myself reasonable, I finished this stage as 29th. The 5th stage was for the mainbunch a restday, 2 riders could escape and I became 16th. The 6th stage was succesful again for our team, an early break of 24 riders could escape including Julian Rammler and I from Team PZ Racing. This group took a lead of more than 10 minutes at the bunch. With 20 Km to go 6 riders could escape, including 3 Pro-Continental riders, Robert McLachlan, Tom Southam (both Drapac-Porsche) and Milne Shawn (HealthNet), Eddy Forner (CCT Differdange), Sea Kong Loh (Discovery-Marco Polo) and I. Finally it became a sprint and I became 2nd behind the Australian Robert McLachlan. During the 7th stage I finished in the bunch as 25th. In the General Classification I finished at an 11th place.
TOUR OF NORTH COAST TAIWAN One day after the Tour de Taiwan we participated with 4 riders of our team at the one-day race Tour of North Coast Taiwan in Keelung (Twn). The finish was on a 7 Km Climb. Winner of the race became the Iranian Hossein Askari (Giant Asia Racing Team), I gained a 3rd place, while my teammates Christian Gertz finished 5th place, Chris Lintaman 19th and Julian Rammler 27th.

13 March; Cycling together with Lisa ! Today I did a 21 Km ride together with my 4 year old daughter Lisa.
11 March; Saturday I participated together with Marc Habets in the race Molenbeek-Wersbeek (Bel). With 190 starters it was a big bunch. 12 riders could escape and I became 7th in the bunchsprint, finally I became 19th.
Because of the birthday of my daugter Lisa, I did not participate in the classic Dorpenomloop Rucphen, where our team started, but I decided to participate in the trainingrace in Beek (Ned). Together with Marc Habets we could control the race en therefor Marc could gain the victory and I became 2nd.
Next Wednesday we will leave with our team from Frankfurt to the Tour de Taiwan (UCI 2.2), a 7-day stagerace which counts for the Asia Tour. The race will start on 18 March in Kaohsiung and will finish on 24 March in Taipei.
7 March; Today I started together with Thomas Bontenackels and Marc Habets in the race GP Fayt-le-Franc (Bel). It was a windy race with a lot of cobblestones. Tommy was in the break away of 15 riders and became 14th. I was in the second group, but had to ride the last 7 Km on a flat front tire. Marc finished in the third group.
5 March; On Saturday we participated with our team in the Ster van Zwolle (Ned), the opening classic of The Netherlands. After 15 Km there was a mass crash where I was just behind. After a hard chase we finally could catch the first group. Constantly the first group of 60 riders fell apart because of the high side winds and after chasing several times I suffered from the efforts. After 135 Km I was in the third group and I decieded to abandon.
On Sunday together with Marc Habets I did start in the second trainingrace in Beek (Ned). My efforts of Saturday were clearly palpable. Fortunately teammate Marc Habets had better legs and gained the victory with the Elite/U23, I became 4th.

25 February; Today we did start with our team in the trainingrace in Beek (Ned). Immediately from the start there were attacks and I was in a break away of 7 riders with i.a. Aldo Klomp (B&E), Jelmer Pietersma (BeOne) and Marco Wesseling. Finally we were left with 5 riders and had to sprint for the victory. I could win the sprint easily and gained already for the 3rd time a trainingrace this season. Next week the real season will start with the Dutch classic "Ster van Zwolle".

19 February; Yesterday our team took part in the 3rd trainingrace in Veldhoven (Ned). After many attacks 3 riders could escape, including teammate Marc Habets. With only 4 laps to go I could join the 3 leaders alone, on that moment, strangly enough, my backwheel slipped away and I crashed. In spite of that my speed wasn't too fast, but anyway my own mistake! Marc became 3rd.
11 February; Today I participated in the 2nd trainingrace in Veldhoven (Ned). During the race I had good legs, but to race alone against 16 riders of the Continental Team, Piels Cyclingteam, was finally too much for me. The Piels Cyclingteam dominated the complete race and I became only 10th in the result. Winner of the race was Hans Bloks (Piels Cyclingteam).
10 February; Yesterday was our teampresentation in Kornelimünster (Ger) and in my opinion it was again a great succes!
4 February; Today I participated together with several teammates of Team PZ Racing in the trainingrace in Veldhoven (Ned). I was surprised that it went that good after my sickness ! Already in the beginning of the race I was in the break away of 5 riders, of which 4 riders of De Dommelstreek. Still I easily got rid off two riders so that I was only left with two riders of the same team during the last laps. With 5 laps to go I attacked and I went solo to the victory. Mark Solberg became 6th, Christian Gertz, Christian Miessen, Marc Habets and Michael Schweizer finished all in the bunch after ridden a good race.
3 February; Lucky for me I had only a severe cold and because of some good medication I am already recovered enough to participate tomorrow in the trainingrace in Veldhoven (Ned) together with my teammembers. I hope the form is still good, because I didn't ride my bike for 5 days.
1 February; Bad news ! Since Tuesday I have a rhinitis inflammation. After I already visited the doctor, I have made x-rays in the hospital of Heerlen today. Now I have to wait when I am recovered.

28 January; Today I participated together with my teammate, Marc Habets, in the trainingrace (road race) in Oss (Ned). Already early in the race we both were in the break away of 8 riders. 3 Laps before the finish our leading group fell apart and finally we were left with 4 riders, including Marc and I. Marc prepared the sprint perfectly for me and I rather easily could win the race, Marc became 4th.
